OpportUNITY is a Non-governmental, non-profit organization with an aim to inspire, support and empower young people. This is achieved through the three themes of promoting, education and training in healthier lifestyles and greater social cohesion. It delivers programmes in Youth Development, Youth Leadership, Citizenship and Youth Education. It also promotes learning through diversionary and informal activities such as sport, media and creative or performing arts.

The project:

The TC “Change Promoters” aims to adapt Project Management methodologies to the youth work reality both at local, national or European level in order to raise youth projects impact and to encourage the exchange of good practices and quality dissemination and wider impact. The project aims to improve youth work impact at European level. It aims to make the NGOs adapt a professional approach regarding their projects. Being themselves youth workers, participants will influence people at local or national level, having in the end a ripple effect. Furthermore, one of the project priorities is to increase the participation of young people in Erasmus+ by increasing the reached audience of young people in dissemination and exploitation of project results.

Objectives of the project:

-raising participants’ practical skills regarding project impact

-helping participants discover new tools to plan, implement and assess the impact of their activities

-stimulating the exchange of good practices regarding youth activities impact

-encouraging European youth cooperation in the field of Erasmus+ programme

Participants profile:

Participants are expected to be devoted, thoughtful, enthusiastic persons, who will take part of future activities back in their local area and disseminate and implement their learnings from the training course. Previous work with youth is a nice addition. Age limit: 18+.

Summary of the project
“Inclusion Workers” is a project, consisting in a training and a seminar, as a response to the Needs we and our partners identified – to train their staff in becoming more experienced in working with young Roma and also to increase the number of young Roma which are involved in youth activities.

We want with this project to respond to the lack of experience and knowledge about how to work
with Roma young people of the 36 youth workers from 10 NGO’s which are working in this field.
The general aim of our project is to capacitate the Roma and non Roma civil society to work with
Roma young people.

The general objectives of the project are:
– To capacitate the 10 partner NGO’s to work with young Roma
– To foster the use of the guide “9 steps in working with Roma youngsters”
– To increase the participation of young Roma in the life of the local communities
– To promote nonformal education and practical learning for young Roma

The activities of the project consist in:

A1: Training Course
The training was held from 10 -20.06.2017 in Milcoveni, Romania. The training was serving as theoretical part and professional informations about youth work activity and about Roma. What was following was a 6 months period to do local activities trying to use practically the theoretical
informations received during the training.

A2: Seminar
The evaluation and good practices seminar will be organize in January 2018 in Litomysl, Czech Republic – with the aim to can conclude how to
work with Roma young people and with youth with fewer opportunities. The results of the seminar will be to improve the guidelines, to create a set of resources and good practices in promoting inclusion.

Partner countries: Czech Republic, Poland, Macedonia, Italy, Romania.

It is mandatory that the participants of the seminar have experienced working in disadvantaged areas with youth with fewer opportunities and they want to share their experience.

Call for short term EVS volunteers in Slovenia!

CYA KRIK issues: Call for 2 volunteers.

What: Short Term EVS project.

When: 03.01.2018 – 04.03.2018

Where: Poljče, Slovenia.

Host organisation: Zavod Manipura is a small NGO with a lot of experiences in EVS. It has been an accredited hosting & sending organisation from 2008 and so far they have hosted more than 100 volunteers from many different countries. They organize workshops and free time activities for local children and youngsters like handicrafts, outdoor activities, creative activities, playing games, thematic evenings in our Children and Youth Centre „Vila Čira Čara“ in Poljče, next to Begunje na Gorenjskem.

More about the project: The Children and Youth Center „Vila Čira Čara“ is open for children and youngsters from Wednesday till Saturday during the school days and from Monday till Friday during the school holidays. They organize creative activities, theater activities, handicrafts, sport games, baking activities, fairytales, playing games and other workshops for preschool and school children. It is always interesting if the volunteers prepare a presentation of their country. Once a week they prepare workshops for people with disabilities and once a month for the children from the local kindergarten and primary school. The ideas of the volunteers are very welcome and they help the volunteers to work on their own individual project. It can be a workshop, decoration of a wall, constructing something practical, making a movie…

There is also a lot of practical work: helping with cleaning and renovating the house, constructing playing material
for the playground, wooden games and small furniture. They take care of the animals (cats, rabbits, hamster) and of
the vegetables garden, there is a lot of grass to cut and fruit trees to take care of. And of course a lot of snow to
clean in the winter. The volunteers have many opportunities to learn new skills, to be useful and creative!

Food and accommodation: The house is situated in the sunny place in the village Poljče, next to Begunje na
Gorenjskem. The office and the creativity room are in the ground floor, the big
playing room in the attic.
The volunteers live in the first floor. There are 3 bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room
with a sunny terrace and a bathroom. Each bedroom is for 2 or 3 volunteers. There
is a big garden around the house.
The volunteers get 5 EUR food money and 3 EUR pocket money per day and they
